Carolinas’ Cliffside Units at Rogers Energy Complex Bites the Dust!

Posted: October 19, 2015 in Uncategorized

On Oct. 6, 2015, DH Griffin Companies demolished the Duke Energy Carolinas’ Cliffside Units 1-4 powerhouse at Rogers Energy Complex, located in Mooresboro, N.C. Units 5 and 6 continue to provide safe and reliable energy to the region.

By retiring, decommissioning and demolishing our older, less efficient coal units, Duke Energy has the opportunity to modernize our generation fleet to better serve their customers in the future. With the culmination of the demolition activities, with the help of DH Griffin Companies, Duke Energy will be able to move forward with their ultimate goal of removing the original powerhouse and restoring the site to ground level.

“It’s another landmark going away. I’m sure that the people who worked over there hate more than I to see it go.” — Reno Bailey, founder of remembercliffside.com
